The oil is made according to the principles of ecological farming, and is certified by the Control and Certiication Institute of the University of Maribor. Also the chemical analysis and quality panel test were done.
The olive plantation is managed in accordance with the principles of sustainable management, withou using sprays or mineral fertilisers. The plantation is surrounded by grass; in spring, we mulch a patha along the outer edges of the terraces in the width of mulcher (130 cm). on this path we also grind the small branches that remained after trimming. The remaining plantation is mulched at the end of September, in order to prepare the ground for olive harvest. We do not mow slopes. Every few years, we trim the bushes and trees that prevent sunlight from reaching the olive trees.
We fertilise in the spring, using certified organic fertilisers, with the fertiliser quantity calculation based on a soil analysis and annual yield. This approach allows the plantation to develop comprenhensively, increasing the diversity of plants and animals, while the shade provided by unmown grass prevents high temperatures within the first few centimetres of soil in the summer. The increased plant diversity means that plantation provides more so-called ecosystem goods and services than intensive agricultural production plantation. In the last few years, the number of useful plants has been increasing.
Agriculturul Holding Forte is situated in the area of Letišče, in the hamlet Sikuri, on the edge of village Sv. Peter above the Dragonja Valley.
The entire area is part of Natura 2000. The main product of holding is olive oil. In the plantation that spans 1.18 hectares, the predominant cultivars are Bianchera and Leccino, with some Buga, Črnica, Santa Caterina, Askola, Storta and Pendolino. The oil is of extra virgin olive oil grade, made according to the principles of ecological farming and certified by the competent control organisation. The olives are preserved according to the old recipe.
